A bit about Beavers…

The Beaver Colony is the first and youngest section of the Scout Group for children aged between 6 and 8 years old.  There is core flexibility in the age range:  young people can join from age 5¾, and can move to Cubs between age 7½ and 8½.

They enjoy all that Scouting has to offer; being introduced to outdoor activities, having the opportunity to be creative and explore their local community. Joining in rather than meeting set standards, is the key approach, and there are a range of badges and challenge awards that Beaver Scouts can gain to recognise their achievements.

Activities

During their time in the Colony, Beaver Scouts will get a chance to try a wide range of different activities as well as going on trips, days out, and on sleepovers. Beavers will work towards badges during their weekly meetings, but they are also encouraged to complete badges at home. Just bring in your evidence to show your leaders! A full list of Beaver Activity Badges and their requirements can be found here.

The Beaver Promise

Beaver Uniform

Beavers wear a turquoise polo shirt and turquoise sweatshirt available online or locally at Top Sport in Kidlington. Beavers will be given a necker when they make their promise.

Beaver Badges

Beavers have opportunities to work towards Activity Badges and Staged Badges. These badges are then sewn onto the appropriate place on their sweatshirt.
