A bit about Cubs…

The Cub Pack is the second section of the Scout Group following on from Beavers. Cub Scouts are young people aged between 8 and 10 ½.  Our Cubs meet at the Village Hall on a Wednesday evening for an hour and a half.

The Pack is made up of young members who have moved up from the Beaver Colony or those who have joined Scouting for the first time. This Pack is made up a number of smaller groups called Sixes.

At Cubs, our focus is on fun, and we try to provide the children with experiences and opportunities to learn skills that they may not get elsewhere.

Activities

During their time in the Pack, Cubs will have the opportunity to take part in activities such as star gazing, fire lighting, archery, axe throwing, as well as going on trips and camps. We try to encourage Cubs to take an interest in their local and global environment, and regularly take part in projects around the village. During their weekly meetings, Cubs will work towards various badges. Cubs are also encouraged to complete badges at home – just bring in the evidence to show your leader. A full list of Activity Badges and their requirements can be found here.

The Cub Promise

The Cub Law

Cub Scouts always do their best, think of others before themselves and do a good turn every day.

The Cub Motto

Be prepared.

Cub Uniform

Cubs wear a green polo shirt and a green sweatshirt available online or locally at Top Sport in Kidlington. Cubs will be provided with a necker when they make their promise.

Cub Badges

Cubs love earning badges, and wear them with pride. They should be sewn on to the sweatshirt in the appropriate place.
