My.SCOUT

1st Tackley and Heyford Scout Group uses My.SCOUT. This allows us to keep you up to date with your child’s badge progress, and you to manage your payments to the group for subs and camps. You will be asked to create an account when your child joins the group.

Personal Information

When your child joins the group, you will be asked to complete registration forms, including medical details where appropriate. Please make sure that you keep leaders up to date if anything changes during the time your child is in the group.

We take security very seriously, and any personal information that you share with the group is kept secure and inline with GDPR regulations.

Subs

The subs for all sections is £30 per term. Payments can be made termly or yearly, but should be paid at the beginning of each term/year. You can pay through My.SCOUT.

Behaviour

While Scouting is meant to be fun, it is important that Beavers, Cubs and Scouts understand that good behaviour is important at all times.

Each section has its own Code of Conduct, specifically tailored to the ages and understanding of the children in that group. If a child does not follow the code of conduct and misbehaves during a session, then the leader will discuss the matter with the child.

Beavers Code of Conduct

  • Have fun
  • Be kind and forgiving
  • Be helpful
  • Listen carefully
  • Talk normally and keep loud voices for games

Cubs Code of Conduct

  • Attend all pack meetings, unless ill or away
  • Wear their uniform smartly and with pride
  • Listen carefully to instructions
  • Recognise the role of sixers and seconders
  • Sixers and seconders should set a good example and take care of their six
  • Come to order quickly for flag break and inspection
  • Come to meetings with a positive attitude and a happy smile

Scouts Code of Conduct

  • Wear uniform with pride
  • Arrive on time
  • Show respect during flag break and flag down
  • Follow the Scout Law at all times

Camps

Each section tries to organise two to three camps or overnight stays per academic year. These camps are not covered by the subs, and therefore do incur an additional cost. Attendance at overnight events is not compulsory, but we encourage children to try and attend as camps provide extra opportunities and experiences that we cannot provide in our weekly meetings. You will be provided with details of forthcoming camps during the year, and we ask that you sign up and pay by the deadlines given to avoid disappointment.

Helping Out

Our sections are run entirely by volunteers. We always welcome an additional pair of hands, so if you would like to help out from time to time, or have a skill that you would like to share, please do get in touch.
