Last weekend, 34 Beavers and Cubs headed to Shipton-On-Cherwell Village Hall for our annual Christmas Sleepover.
Once everyone had arrived, everyone set about making themselves a packed lunch. Once everyone was ready we set off on our walk.
During the hike we learned about the train crash of 1874 and the fire that burned down the manor house at Hampton Gay. We stopped for a picnic by the river, then carried on past Kidlington and then to Annies Tearooms for a well deserved hot chocolate.
Suitably refreshed, it was only a short walk along the canal back to the hall. We walked just under 4.5 miles, and with relatively little moaning!

Once everyone had cleaned up and rested, we had time for some games before tea. It was very loud!
After we had eaten and cleared up, it was time to get ready for bed and watch a movie (or two). The hall roof made the perfect cinema screen!
The leaders made the most of everyone being occupied to have a well earned cup of tea.
On Sunday, after a really rather good night’s sleep, everyone tucked into a hearty breakfast before playing games or doing some Christmas crafts.
Once the parents arrived it was time to give out some badges and head home.
Thank you to Shipton-On-Cherwell Village Hall for having us, and thank you to all the Leaders for organising a fun weekend.
